Applications must be submitted by March 1 of the year you qualify to be timely. Late-filed applications are accepted and processed under Florida Statutes.
File online, in person at 2480 Thompson Street, 4th Floor, Fort Myers, or by mail to PO Box 1546, Fort Myers, FL 33902. For 2026 the additional (second) homestead exemption is up to $26,411, for a total of $51,411.

- You are a permanent Florida resident and do not claim residency in another county or state
