The Assessor's Office says the normal filing period for the current tax year has ended, and late applications are now handled as Certificates of Error. A Certificate of Error can also recover a missed Homeowner Exemption for past tax years back to 2021.

Apply online through the Assessor's filing portal with a photo ID and an occupancy affidavit; once granted, the Homeowner Exemption renews automatically. Co-op owners cannot use the online system and must file a paper application.
