You must own and occupy the home as of October 1 of the pretax year. After approval, file Form PD5 with your tax collector every year on or before March 1 to keep the senior or disabled deduction.

File the $250 senior, disabled or veteran deduction with your town's assessor or tax collector. Burlington is one of three counties where an appeal of a denied veteran deduction is due January 15 instead of April 1.
