You must own and occupy the home as of October 1 of the pretax year. After approval, file Form PD5 with your tax collector every year on or before March 1 to keep the senior or disabled deduction.

New Jersey's $250 senior, disabled and veteran deductions are filed with your town's tax assessor or tax collector (Form PTD or Form V.S.S.), not the county. ANCHOR, Senior Freeze and Stay NJ are state programs filed with the Division of Taxation.
